Aluminum Structures Design Manual

The Aluminum Structures Design Manual is a text of building systems and specifications using hollow, self mating, and snap aluminum extrusions. The manual contains connection details and allowable span tables for these framing component parts. The building systems include screen rooms, pool enclosures, carports, patio covers, glass rooms, acrylic and screen rooms, wood frame room additions with aluminum roof systems, and awnings.
Two versions on CD-ROM are available. One contains a PDF file of the current Aluminum Structures Design Manual, including the Design Check List and Inspection Guides. The other CD is a PDF file of the current "ONE PERMIT ONLY" drawings of each section of the ASDM in 11x17 format.
The engineering contained in this manual has been prepared in accordance with the writer's interpretation of the 2004 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE with 2006 additions, Chapter 20 Light metal Alloys, Chapter 23 Wood, Part I of The Aluminum Association of Washington, D.C. Aluminum Design Manual and ASCE-7-98.
Appropriate conversion tables must be used for codes other than the FLORIDA BUILDING CODE.
Structures sized with this manual are designed to withstand wind velocity loads, walk on or live loads, and/or loads as listed in the appropriate span tables.
Florida Statutes governing Professional Engineers' responsibilities for signatures of documents permits certification of the entire document by the signing and sealing of the cover page with a table of contents and the binding of the document.
